Make No Bones About A Skeleton Costume
For trick or treat at Halloween, you really need a scary costume. The whole idea is to walk around your neighborhood looking ghoulish. Personally, my favorite scary costume is the skeleton costume.
If any symbol epitomised Halloween then it would be a skeleton. The skeleton is great for decorations as well as a great costume. You can hang small ones from doors and windows. There are many types of skeleton costumes to choose from and here are some ideas for this Halloween.
The Grim Reaper
Many religions and cultures view death as a sentient entity, a being that is capable of feeling and perceiving. In English the name often given for death is the Grim Reaper. The Grim Reaper is commonly portrayed as a black cloaked and hooded skeleton who carries a large scythe. The myth is that he takes people from this world to the next. This characterisation is extremely popular in modern media and the Grim Reaper has appeared in the Final Destination horror films even a comedy film, Bill and Ted's Bogus Journey (1991) amongst others. By dressing as the Grim Reaper you will definitely cause fear wherever you go.
Zombie Skeleton
If you really want to be fearsome then you can't go wrong with a skeleton zombie costume. Zombies are creatures that appear as a corpse that has come back to life as a mindless human being. The zombie is very well known from Michael Jackson's "Thriller" video which had a zombie dance in the graveyard. Some of my favorite zombie movies are "Night of the Living Dead" and more recently the horror-comedy "Shaun of the Dead".
Skeleton Pirate
Finally, everyone loves pirates, but how about really frightening your neighborhood for Halloween with a skeleton pirate costume. Did you see the movie "Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl"? Captain Barbossa and his crew were pirate skeletons who couldn't feel pain or pleasure.
